Zaldiva Partners with Heske Horror on BONE CHILLER Distribution Deal Includes Limited Time Promotions for Zaldiva Customers Press Release Source: Zaldiva, Inc. On 6:00 am EST, Monday November 9, 2009 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Zaldiva, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ZLDV - News), (Xetra/Frankfurt Exchange: UZ8), and a leader in Pop Culture collectibles, comic books, memorabilia and online auctions headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida today announced they have signed a distribution agreement with Heske Horror, an indie comic creator, to sell its award-winning horror anthology BONE CHILLER. This deal continues Zaldiva's philosophy of forming relationships with emerging indie comic creators to provide fresh content to its customers, and build its brand as the leading indie comic store with an eye for recognizing quality titles before they go mainstream. "This is the first of several distribution agreements we hope to forge with Heske Horror," says Nicole Leigh, Zaldiva's President. "This is a budding comic creator whose titles have already demonstrated an ability to garner awards, critical praise, and even get made into films." R.M. Heske, the principal behind Heske Horror, has several comic titles produced and two screenplays slated for film development. One title in BONE CHILLER, "The Waiting Room," has already been adapted as a short film ("Waiting") which stars Richard Schiff and Izabella Miko. The 2007 short film won an award for Best Cinematography at the Beverly Hills Short Film Festival. Under the arrangement, Zaldiva customers will have exclusive access to special collector promotions for a limited time, including: •A free signed copy of THE NIGHT PROJECTIONIST (issue one), written by Heske and published by Studio 407, included with the first 30 orders; and •All copies of BONE CHILLER will be autographed by Heske, with a complimentary "Cold Blooded Chillers" book mark. BONE CHILLER is a "best of" anthology of Heske Horror's critically acclaimed COLD BLOODED CHILLERS: Tales of Suburban Murder and Malice. Winner of a Bronze medal for "Outstanding Horror" at the 2009 Independent Publisher Book Awards, this 140-page trade paperback features 8 great scares and 2 chilling extras. The Foreword to the book is written by Rod Lott, creator of the literary review site Bookgasm.com, managing editor of Hitch Magazine: The Journal of Pop Culture Absurdity, and contributing writer to the GRAPHICS CLASSICS comic series. Graphic tales were illustrated by outstanding international indie comic artists such as Zeu (Charlatan, Project Elohim), Reno Maniquis (Maskarado, Wall of Angels), and Adam Swiecki (The Reborn Legends). Jay Katz, owner of InvestComics.com, believes both the BONE CHILLER anthology and NIGHT PROJECTIONIST comic could be "sleeper" collectible investments. "In just one year, Heske Horror has been building fans among critics and collectors, and it has impressive titles in the queue," says Mr. Katz. "THE NIGHT PROJECTIONIST comic was somewhat of a victim of Diamond's increased sales thresholds a year ago, but even though the book went straight to OGN (it will release in Q1 2010), it has been optioned for film by Myriad Pictures and could go up in value if the film gets made and is popular." In fact, a review by none other than Fangoria magazine cited "This could be the next 30 Days of Night!" Look for more exciting news from Zaldiva and Heske Horror in the coming weeks. About Zaldiva, Inc. Zaldiva is a distribution system unique to the specialty retail industry, focusing its product orientation on the comics and collectibles genre. Zaldiva Inks Distribution Deal for Heske Horror's 2012: FINAL PRAYER Global comic creators, horror writers and book authors contribute to "End Times" anthology. Press Release Source: Zaldiva, Inc. On 6:00 am EST, Monday November 16, 2009 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Zaldiva, Inc., A Florida Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ZLDV - News), (Xetra/Frankfurt Exchange: UZ8) and a leader in Pop Culture collectibles, comic books, memorabilia and online auctions headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida today announced they have signed a distribution agreement with Heske Horror, an indie comic creator, to sell its much anticipated "end times" anthology 2012: FINAL PRAYER. This deal reflects Zaldiva's philosophy of identifying emerging indie comic creators in order to develop strong business relationships and gain a foothold to potential solid investment opportunities for blockbuster titles to be developed beyond print, including electronic, phone, web, games, film or a combination of these. "With an award-winning indie horror anthology (BONE CHILLER) under its belt and a few titles optioned for film, R.M. Heske at Heske Horror was a creator we wanted to offer to customers - both in our store and online," says Nicole Leigh, President at Zaldiva, Inc. "With its latest offering, 2012: FINAL PRAYER, we think Heske Horror has hit another homerun." Here's a description for the 154-page book: "What will go down on 12/21/12? Extinction ... Ecstasy ... Or another Y2K non-event? Comic Creators from around the world share their creative interpretations! From the award-winning publisher of BONE CHILLER, comes an "End Times" anthology that is truly a global event. 2012: FINAL PRAYER features graphic tales from indie comic creators from the US, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Scotland and South Africa." The book will be available to order from Zaldiva on November 13, 2009 (coincidentally, Friday the 13th and the same release date as Sony's mega-disaster epic 2012). Zaldiva will make available for sale a limited quantity of the UK variant cover by Artist Paul Cartwright (also signed by Heske on the inside). Despite the dreary outlook for 2012, early reviews of "Final Prayer" are extremely promising: "Say your final prayers because 2012 is coming! This book is chock full of terror, chills and thrills that will leave you breathlessly asking: What will happen on December 21, 2012? A roller-coaster ride of an anthology!" -Marie D. Jones, Best-Selling Author "2013: The End of Days or a New Beginning?" "A dandy concept for graphic fiction that remains true to James Warren's independent spirit, with illustrated stories a bit edgier than the mainstream. I'd much rather re-read this book a third time than watch Roland Emmerich's movie even once." -Rod Lott, Bookgasm.com "This is a great collection of original stories by some amazing writers and artists. You know I say 'give me some monsters and I will tell you how funny they are,' but if you make me think about the world ending, now you've got me scared!" -"Decapitated Dan" Royer, From The Tomb magazine "Is taking a wait and see attitude with 2012 the smart thing to do? In a global cataclysm, those who've waited to cross bridges until they come to them, will only find panicked masses, queuing up behind smoldering cinders. If you can dare to think outside the box for your own survival, this book is a good starting point." -Marshall Masters, Author/Publisher "Planet X Forecast and 2012 Survival Guide" "The 2012 buzz has really begun to take hold," says Zaldiva's Ms. Leigh. "While there are books 'out there' about the topic, this anthology collection is truly unique with its breadth of creative interpretations from diverse international artists." Jay Katz, owner of InvestComics.com (a 2009 nominee for the Project Fanboy Awards "Best Comic Book Website") sees investment potential in this latest Heske Horror offering. "This anthology showcases a vast array of indie talents - plus a few potential breakout newcomers and some graphic tales that could be parlayed into film or books. Add in the UK variant cover by brilliant cover artist Paul Cartwright (shown here) and you have an investment bet that's a Trifecta. Definitely worth buying a few copies to put away - and pray they survive 2012!" |
